Dr. Mills can only be consulted on a private basis. The procedure for all new patients is to make an initial consultation appointment. As a result of the consultation, a written estimate is given for any treatment that is requested or required, but at this stage the patient is not obliged to continue with treatment. Emergency Appointments Emergency appointments are available each working day between 12 noon and 12.45 p.m. so they do not interfere with planned appointments. These are short appointments only and designed solely to provide temporary emergency relieve of pain, or treat the results of accident or trauma. After emergency treatment, some patients may find it necessary to make additional appointments to achieve a permanent solution to their dental problem. Making Emergency Appointments If an emergency appointment is required, we ask that a patient contacts the practice as soon as it opens at 8.30 a.m. Although a time is allocated for an emergency appointment, we cannot guarantee that the patient will be seen on time. Therefore, during emergency times there may delays in seeing the dentist. These possible delays are governed by the unknown nature of each patient's problem and the varying amounts of time required by the dentist to treat them. Emergency Call Out Fee If Dr Mills is recalled to the practice to treat an emergency outside normal practice hours, then a Call Out fee of £90.00 is charged, but this fee excludes the cost of any treatment or X-Rays that may be provided. A Call Out fee is only waived if the emergency is directly related to a particular treatment a patient is presently undergoing. |
