Dental Ozone Treatment

HealOzone Ozone is a pale blue coloured gas, which naturally occurs in earth's highest atmosphere to protect us from harmful sunlight and is produced during thunderstorms. Ozone kills bacteria, viruses and fungi so effectively that for at least 40 years it has been used to treat drinking water, purifies most bottled water and is used to clean waste water and toxic waste.

Ozone kills bacteria, which cause dental decay; stops further damage and in mnay cases can reverse the decay process. In the healing phase of treatment, calcium from saliva, natural healing chemicals and fluoride from toothpaste soak back into the softened damaged tooth to remineralise it and provides a natural barrier. Healing takes 4 - 6 weeks to complete and decay does not have to be drilled out. In the majority of cases, results are permanent provided there is regular ongoing professional care and high quality daily personal oral hygiene. Neglect and frequent intakes of sugary fizzy drinks will overwhelm all healing and promote further decay.

In very small cavities, it is not necessary to place a filling thus eliminating the need for injections and drillings. Filling materials, but to a lesser extent than normal, are still required when providing dental cosmetics or treating large defects. An injection and some drilling may still be necessary when replacing large restorations and treating large defects.

There is no sensation during treatment, which takes between 20 - 40 seconds to complete so the tooth is cavity free without pain. Ozone can treat ulcers, cold sores and minor skin lesions.

In conjunction with Ozone, a DIAGNOdent machine is used which detects decay before it is clinically evident. Therefore, decay can be treated with Ozone to prevent it fully developing.

A means of treating dental decay without the possible need for injections or fillings.
